Hi Brooklyngeezer and CheapGal long time no see or hear from you two.

I happen to have an extra refrigerator/freezer in my garage (funny we are all the same). When I bought my new referigerator I relegated the old one to the garage for the overflow (used to have a large stand up freezer that died on me).

What's up with you two?

Peace!

Yup I think its in our shopaholic gene. lol

Nothing much up with me. I had my one little purchase and for now I guess I'm ok but I have my eye on donut maker. Its like a sandwhich maker but shaped for donuts I figure its easier and healthier than frying.

I keep saying I'm going to get one. During the holidays my freezer is just busting! I always just make manage to get it closed. LOL

Why not get a little 5 cu ft chest model (that is, if you can spare any space in a garage, basement, etc). They always seem to have that size on sale and they cost practically nothing to run--even if you only used it at holiday time.

I bought a 2.5 cu ft compact chest freezer which is a lifesaver for me. It fits perfectly behind my portable dishwasher in my kitchen. I *could* have had a 5 cu ft (which cost the same back then as my compact model), but the only place I could put it was my cellar (I can't even be kind and call it a basement cuz it's a creepy CELLAR) which has water problems during big storms so that was definitely OUT. I figured the extra cost of the compact model was worth it so I could put it out of harm's way in the kitchen. Plus, it's the perfect size for a single person.

Gee, they should have a "thumbs-up" smiley...LOL. I did that with my mother-in-law's old fridge (a GE from 1948!!!) It didn't die...just got carted away when I had the garage taken down :)

Nothing much up with me...just had my sister here from UK for the past 3 weeks and am battling some awful cold that comes with the most vicious cough. It's been going around here in NY. Hopefully, it'll be over soon.

I like to cook, but nothing all that fancy for just me. But I do not like the idea of having a lot of small appliances that are only good for thing. I try to keep it simple. I don't even have an electric can opener; I just use a hand held one when I need it. I use a whisk instead of a hand mixer. The only thing on my countertop is a toaster and coffee pot and of course the microwave.

I've got the standard hall closet that is right near my kitchen and I put shelves in that for kitchen overflow. I do have a breadmaker I used just once and the large standard mixer, that I also used only once. Both will probably go when I do my next round of decluttering. And that is very soon!

You are the antijunkie LOL just kidding around. I prefer my appliances to be seperate. I'm not a big fan of the mulit use types because when it breaks then all the functions are a wash.

I've enjoyed reading all your posts. I love appliances, and I'm a su/ck/er when it comes to the appliances that are sold on the infomercials. I want the Nuwave, the Turbo Cooker, and the Express 101. I also saw a really neat smoothie maker. I can't think of the name but Montel Williams is the host of the infomercial. He calls it an emulsifier. I also love watching the Magic Bullet infomercials. My own collection consists of 3 slow cookers, a rice/veggie steamer, George Foreman grill, and a pressure cooker. Would you believe that my pressure cooker is an Ultrex, and it still works great.

Hi Aquafina

Welcome to the junkie thread! I'm hoping to add to my collection this weekend. Not sure what but hopefully I will come across something cool. I love my appliances but I'm also on the look out for a cookware set and some large stock pots. All of course on the CHEAP!

I think I'm about to cave again! HSN has the waring pro hotdog griller on two flex pays. I really want this appliance. I'm justifying the purchase because the other guys all day show didn't present anything much that struck my junkie fancy. (I still enjoyed it though)

Since Jamie will be around next month with her new stuff I'm not sure if I should do this now. or wait. Think

I can't tell you how hard I laughed when I read this. The last time I had a hot dog was probably back in June. LOL

Once again I am brought down off the applianceaholic ledge. I'm still laughing.

That cookie press doesn't have any reviews yet I would wait a bit. They do offer alot but if it doesn't work well then there is no point. Maybe look online for reviews elsewhere. Even at $23 bucks its not a bad price so no rush. As for the oven mits, they scare me a little because they are so small. The style worries me too its easy for your fingers to slip out. I'm afraid that would happen to me and my reflexes wouldn't be fast enough and I'd get burned. Plus I have long fingers. LOL

I'd save the ledge for a better purchase. Come on back in. Happy 2

When I get tempted I'll report back.

Peace!

So is anyone caving today? I will probably get some things as I won some coupons in the game. I'm watching it now and is Emeril selling aluminum foil bags for $20. Think

Hmmm... I'm thinking about getting two triple burners. I have two already but this has a bigger pot and the chafing dishes. I wanted two more anyway, I think...well anyway thats how I'm remembering it. LOL No shipping and the coupons will bring it down to just over $100.

Coupons aren't good on Todays Special items. Hmmmm... makes them not so special anymore. LOL

I'm considering the rival BBQ pit and that hot dog griller. I guess I just won't be happy until I get it. LOL I did just purchase some hot dogs though. Winking

They shouldn't say you can't get that bbq pit anywhere else. I saw one a few years back at the local houseware discount store. I bet if I googled it I would find it elsewhere.

Well I caved and purchased the BBQ Pit and the Hot Dog Griller but won't be accepting delivery. It was too late to cancel (less than 24hrs). I had to spend $350 bucks on my car so there goes that.

What happened to all the applianceaholics? Tell me you all haven't been cured! Are you all attending meetings behind my back. LOL Maybe your all adding on to those kitchens to house the new beauties you will be purchasing?

Well as long as no more financial suprises pop up I can hold the fort. Wolf should be coming out with something new. I see his panini maker on clearance so that coul mean a new modelor new configuration being sold. There is always the new triple burner set.

All this will have to wait until after I pay my tuition next month for the spring semester. I still want that BBQ pit and Hot Dog Griller. St - up- id car. Brick wall
