I am trying to hold off on new toys for a while. I am in the process of redoing the kitchen, and am trying to see if I can do without an oven/stove for a while using just what I have. I have a feeling that I won't miss it. I also saw that pancake puff pan at Wegman's and I think CVS. I have NOT seen a $10 hot dog roller. I might have to have that one! I can always find an excuse to go to CVS.

I make my smoothies with an immersion blender, but maybe you can do this in your smoothie maker too--

1 container of yogurt
1/4 cup fresh fruit
additional sweetener or sugar if you desire it.

Put it all in there and fire it up! The yogurt flavor and fruit can be anything you like. Here's how I do a banana one:

1 tub activia vanilla (IBS LOL, I use activia and it WORKS)
1 sliced ripe banana
1 tsp cream

Yum smoothies! I use my blender or my magic bullet, they both make great smoothies! I use fresh fruit and usually the tropicana mixed juices. Simple but delicious! Or one of my favorites Slimfast chocolate shake mix with strawberries and milk. Great meal replacement.

The new rice cooker should have been the 10 cup I would have purchased it. I already have a 7 cupper. I like the white.

No have not received my book yet but can't wait - I'll post when I get it and if you want any recipe let me know.

Let me know about the checkerboard cake pan - I took a cake decorating class once and loved the experience and learned alot. I have sooooo many cake decorating tools, pan etc. and would love to see how this turns out. I have one of those pans that have a grove in it that you bake the cake (2 pieces) and fill in the grove with fruit filling, ice cream etc. Neat concept.

Peace!

The checkerboard cake pan allows you to use two flavors or two colors of cake and when it is done and you cut into it it looks like a checkerboard.

As to the rice cooker, you will not regret the purchase. It cooks just like a slow cooker or pressure cooker.

Peace!

Sylviai

Hope your recipe book comes soon. I got my cakes pan set yesterday. I can't wait to use it. I read somewhere that it turns out best if you make the mix a little bit thicker than normal to prevent running.

Doesn't Wolf sell one of those pans that you have with the groove. I thought about getting it when he was selling it. These pans make for great cakes during the holidays.

I second sylviai the rice cooker is fantastic!
