I wish at least one of the many designers on HSN would offer one or two stylish, modest, flattering, little black dresses that come down past the knees. Once you're past 30 or 40, your knees are not the cute little things they once were. This season's trend seems to be above-the-knees, which makes dresses ridiculously obscene on my tall, long-legged frame.

i'm 66, and i still want a dress that does not go-way down pass my knees...i don't want a dress down to my ankles, as i'm short and the long dresses makes me look short and dumpy....i can still wear dresses a little above the knee and still look good....i'm 5'2....

I'm not saying I want a dress down to my ankles, but one that goes just past the knee on someone who is about 5'10" tall. If a dress is longer on a shorter person, it is usually just right for me. Little black dresses are so hard to find in that length, and when I do find them, they hang like a gunny sack on the body, not flattering at all. There's got to be a style of dress out there somewhere that looks good on a tall, pear-shaped body. I'm still looking.

I'm with you. At 5'9, most dresses shown would definitely be too short. I'm not against just above the knee, at the knee or slightly below, but I don't want tunic length. Not unless it's a tunic, that is

Joan Rivers has a great basic black sheath on the other channel that has gotten great reviews. Check it out. Just put Joan Rivers dress in the search box.

I haven't worn a dress in years but have found one on the q that fits this over 50, 5'9" 180 lb body quite nicely (A94127)
