experience with them? I'm looking to change the look of my livingroom. I've been considering the stretch type or microfiber. Please let me know your experience and where to purchase. Thanks!

I have three slip covers I picked up at a local Human Society thrift store for $5 each. They are the heavy twill kind. They washed up lovely and go on well for slip covers. The stretchy kind are easy to find anywhere from Big Lots to WM. Try there first since dealing with slip covers can be a pain in the you know what. I use mine to change to look of my living room and den, plus the heavy twill adds an extra layer of protection agains my cat's paws.

I have had many slipcovers in the past, used and from the linen stores. They are great if they FIT. I always bought SureFit brand, but they seem to be made for the "latest styles" of couches. The stretchy kind are great if they fit the make of your sofa. The problem I always had is like if I had a t cushion on the seat, they weren't made for that at the time. They went thru a stage where they made giant rolled arms on the covers when my sofa had a contemporary thin arm, so there was a lot of messiness. My experience would tell you that if you can find one made to fit the same style couch you have (arms, cushion style) then they are great. I have had a lot of the materials and preferred the twill because the thicker fabrics don't show wrinkles from underneath as much. Stretch would be ideal if it fits. For non-stretch, shove sticks or rolls of newspaper in the tucked parts of the cushions to help hold the cover in place. You can get a lot of tips from the surefit website no matter what brand you buy. They make most of them anyway. Good luck.
