Me too... but I've been thinking about maybe ebaying some of mine...still undecided on this. Been collecting for 30+ years and some of them have very sentimental value and others not so sentimental.

I'll send you some....LOL.......my mother left me her's. 200 bells.....I divided them up
with family.

I collect Lucy Riggs (Lucy & Me) porcelain teddy bears. I have 3 china cabinets full of them and they are no longer made. I met Lucy Riggs when she lived here in Washington and I started collecting her bears when she was making them from dough. She now lives in Switzerland.....and I've never received even a "Thank you"........

Hi, Zendee,
I don't think I've had the pleasure of meeting you before. I've been collecting for a long time also. Recently I gave a few to my daughters. I'm planning on taking a big box of collectible things to our daughter's house on Thanksgiving and letting people take things they want. I have a bunch of crystal bowls, and handpainted pieces a friend made for me. I'm at a place in life where I very much need to downsize. I'd like to see these things enjoyed while I'm here. Plus, they can do the dusting :)
Raeli, interesting that your mom left so many of her bells to you. I've never before heard of Lucy Riggs teddy bears. Not even a "thank you"? Tell Flo that Santa should consider leaving coal in her stocking. Bah!

Handpainted pieces? China painted? DH's aunt was a wonderful china painter. I have a few of her pieces that he had made for me when she was alive. She inspired me to take a painting class, which I did and then I bought a kiln. I wound up doing Tole painting and doing plain old ceramics.....I just didn't have the gift that she was so willing to share with me. What a beautiful lady she was!

Raeli, I have a friend who does a lot of china painting. I have many of her pieces. At one point I talked her into signing them. Told her that one day somebody would take a vase to the Antiques Roadshow and they would say, wow, you have an Audrey!
I am truly amazed at how multi talented you are. No kidding here. I think you are an amazing person, and feel privileged to know you, even though you are still 5'5" in my mindseye. :)

My DHs aunt was widowed at a very young age and she had children to care for...no job...and a house to take care of. She sent herself to San Francisco to a china painting school and never looked back. She was a very successful painter in this area and raised all 4 of her children on the money she earned from her craft. She made me some beautiful urn-style lamps with beautiful red Oriental poppies on them. I also received a tea set from her one Christmas with beautiful yellow daisies painted on it. She did sign her work and I periodically check eBay to see if any of her pieces are for sale. What a joy it was to watch her creating beautiful works of art!

You are so fortunate to have a friend willing to share her gifts with you. That's what caring friends do!

I collect coins and stamps. I get most of my stamps from old stamp albums sold at garage sales. I give them to my brother in law who has Cerebral Palsy. He is 62 and is not doing well, but when I get lucky every once in a while and find a stamp album at a garage sale,I take it home to him and he jumps out of his wheelchair and gets on the floor and starts seperating them. He spends days putting them into their proper places in the book. Wish me luck this weekend in my garage sale adventure. Have a safe weekend everybody!Winking

Thank you for the warm welcome and the kind words. He is a very deserving person who has helped people all of his life and now it is time for me to help him. He lights up when he sees me come in with stamps. I am learning about the various stamps also since he has collected most of his earlier life. He enjoys teaching me about his lifelong passion and it seems to renew his spirit. I am blessed that I can help a little bit. Thanks again for the welcome.
