Good morning to all of you. I got a call from the doctor today. Our insurance won't pay for hubby to have his biopsy where it is scheduled,so the date and time I gave you is cancelled.:( We have to go there and get the MRI film and take it to the hospital where he can have it done, and then wait for them to analyze it and contact ua with a new biopsy date. Disappointing on one hand, but, we don't know everything, so maybe it's better for him to have it done where the insurance will pay. This is a hospital we have both been in many times. So we are familiar with where things are, etc. Just more delay. Wanted all our dear friends out there in cyper space to know about the change, and when I get a new date scheduled, I'll update you. In the meanwhile, thank you for your continued expressions of concern. You are dear to me.

snappygrandma,
I have been following your husband's illness and wanted you to know that I wish you both good wishes for his recovery.
Your post recounting how the insurance company is denying coverage for his biopsy is just another example of the greed that exists in the insurance system. Denials are just to give them more profits and you two have to suffer the pain and anxiety of waiting until it can be rescheduled.
Your story and millions of others happen every day and it is immoral, IMO. For those who think that insurance companies shouldn't be held accountable for their practices, think of snappygrandma's husband.

Thank you to all who have posted here today. Your expressions of concern and assurances of prayer are a tremendous encouragement to me. JELLYBEANN (love your nic), we are on medicare. Our insurance card plainly says where we are to go for hospital care. When the office manager at the oncologists office first told me that hubby was to have the test done at a different hospital, she said that was where the insurance company wanted him to go. I really wondered about it then, but thought maybe our usual hospital didn't do this biopsy. So, when we were called this morning, it was just surprising, and inconvenient, as someone had to go to the original facility which had the film of his MRI, and then take it to the other facility. We have to allow an hour to get to either of these facilities. One of our daughters got the film. It's here, and we will get it to the other place in the next couple of days. We are okay with it. The claim was never denied, just misdirected somehow.
We just got home an hour and a half ago from the dental oncologist. They couldn't find a reason for the sensitivity hubby has in one of his teeth. They did some things that might help him, and gave me the film of the tooth in case he needs root canal. If he isn't better in a week or two, we will have to pursue that. The only thing he says, is "it's no fun getting old!" I can't tell you how wonderful it is to come here and share with people who I believe absolutely care about us. I feel like there's a limit to what I want to burden my children with, as they are emotionally involved themselves. I get to see my optholmologist tomorrow. I have very dry eyes, so am looking forward to it. Blessings on all of you. Nobody could have a better group of friends. Hoping you have a wonderful night.

Snappy,So sorry your plans got changed.More of that hurry up and wait, isn't it?
I know when I handled my daddy's Medicare, you got to go to any dr or hospital but I guess after they offered other plans,it is more like regular insurance and they make the decision. But hopefully it will turn out to be a very good hospital for his biopsy.
I hope his tooth coldness issue will get better too.I have had that problem before and it is very uncomfortable.
My prayers continue for the 2 of you. Each time I log on here,I think of you and him and pray for a miracle.
Lots of gentle hugs for you and hopes that you sleep well tonight.
Good luck with your eye dr appt tomorrow.

Thank you again for all your expressions of concern, and for your prayers. Today I got a better understanding of what happened. Our insurance company preferred that my hubby have the biopsy at the hospital where we had the appointment. But, our doctors don't have privileges at that hospital, so we have to go to one where they do have privileges. Our precious daughter picked up the film after work last night. I called the new hospital this morning to see if it would be okay to wait until Monday to take the film there. The lady said that "yes" it would be okay. They have all the paper work all ready, so I don't think it will take long to get a new date and time. I would have taken it there myself today, but it's a 45 minute drive each way and hubby would be alone, and then I have to get back to town here for an eye doc appt. this afternoon. That would leave him alone too many hours today. Our daughter and I are, frankly, worn out, so not having to go today is a great blessing. There is a reason for all of this, I don't know what it is, but that's okay. My pea brain couldn't take it in if Someone told me, so I leave it with Him. It's a gorgeous day here, and now we have a weekend without doctors. Ahhhhhh! Tomorrow is our 57th anniversary...

Thank you BASSETBABE. It will be a quiet day. Hubby made me promise not to buy anything for him, so I didn't. He really doesn't need anything. I wish he could taste so I could make him a treat, but he has no appetite. Well, he's here and we are together and there are no doctors over the weekend, we hope! So, it's all good!

Hello all. Here I am, finally, home from the eye doc and fed. My eyes are super dry. One of the plugs in the tear duct has fallen out, so he is having new ones made, and adding them to the upper ducts. That will be in about 2 weeks. ladycat, thank you for your prayers! raeli, appreciate your anniversary wishes jeannelien, thank you for your prayers and anniversary wishes MsLomo, appreciate your good wishes also BASSETBABE, thank you for caring. Don't know what games will be on. If USC or UCLA are, we will watch them. there's NASCAR on Sunday. There are also probably pro games, though we don't have a team in the NFL. MONK is on tonight. And Numb3rs, which I like. One of our girls will take the film to the hospital tomorrow. They know it could wait until Monday, but want to get it done. We are blessed, indeed. Hope all of you and anyone I forgot (shame on me), have a wonderful evening.
