Grammi2four, so nice to meet you. It's kind of you to take the time to assure me of your prayers. In July of 2007, a cancerous tumor was found in the left side of hubby's neck. It was removed in September 2007. It was not the primary site. That was at the base of the tongue. He had 42 radiation treatments ending on June 6, 2008. The cancer is in his lymph system. He has regular tests and scans, and the PET scan done in Sept. showed something in the upper left arm. An MRI was done and it shows cancer. They need to do a biopsy to find out if it's part of the squamous cell carcinoma, or a new primary site in the bone. I'm glad to get a date certain for the biopsy, so I can schedule all the other things that have to be done. Bless you for your expressions of concern.

Hello, ROCKYSMOM, so nice of you to take time to wish us well and express your concern. You are all such special people. I got my first ever computer for Christmas, and even though I've been shopping with HSN for 23 years, I didn't know there were any forums. In January, I found them and "lurked" for a couple of months before I had the courage to post anything. But, it didn't take long for so many people here to endear themselves to me. I believe that I was led to this place because the caring and camaraderie I've found here fill a need in my life at this time. Hubby sleeps a lot, so I'm essentially alone. I'm fine with that, but being able to interact here with such lovely people is priceless. I hope you have a nice night.

devia, I couldn't possibly stop being silly if I tried, and I don't want to try. We all need humor in our lives. I hope you are having a good night's sleep. See you tomorrow.

Good morning, BASSETBABE, devia, and everyone. We go to the dental oncoloist's office in a little less than an hour. Hubby had tooth worked on and it has started to hurt when anything hot or cold touches it. The dentist is on vacation, but there are associates who can do something. He slept pretty well last night, got up twice, but I only heard him once. Your kindness and your expressions of caring and encouragement mean so much to me. I'm still in sort of shock that you would think of us in this way. Thank you all. I'll keep in touch as much as possible. And, let's have some laughs. Do you wonder if Santa's workshop will ever be the same after having Flo work there?

Snappygrandma, thank you so much for taking your precious time (that you should probably be resting) and filling me in on what has happened to your DH... He has been through a lot (to say the least) and so have you.
I have lite a candle for him here at home and one on the Candle Online site. If anyone would like to join me there, I named the group Snapp. I tried to put Snappygrandpa but it only takes 4 letters but you'll know it for us.
I will continue to pray that the Lord brings him healing and peace.
Big Hugs

Snappy, my heart and thoughts go out to you and your DH. Also, it is evident that people that "meet" daily on forums do care for each other. Dedicating a thread for you shows you have a place in your fellow-posters hearts

Hi, Grammi2four, and shortdiva, and all my other friends. thank you for caring and for expressing your concern for us. Grammi, a special "thanks" to you for the extraordinarily kind thing in opening up an online candle lighting site for my hubby. I didn't know such a thing existed, but do see its significance. How thoughtful of you. Thank you very much.
We had a change in plans today. Just as I was washing the car windows preparing to take hubby to the dentist, several fires broke out surrounding our area. The fires are suspicious, and were near the freeways we would need to use. One of our grandsons was nearby on his way to work. He wasn't able to get there, so he came to see if we were okay and to show us pictures he had taken on the way. I had to cancel the dental appointment. Their computers were down, so couldn't reschedule yet. It was something to watch the helicopters and the huge water scooping planes fly overhead and drop the water. We are thankful for protection and for caring family members. Grandkids are fabulous!!!

SouthernRed, a miracle healing would be wonderful! We pray for that as well. Thank you for remembering us. We are enjoying a day without a doctor visit for hubby. Yipee! I have to go later and have blood drawn. One of my tests came back saying the potassium is high. The doc thinks it was a lab error, but they want to redo it. His office is close to us, so it's fine. Tomorrow we have the dental oncologist. Bless you all, and may you each have a glorious day!

GardenMama, thanks so much for lighting a candle for my hubby. That's a new thing for me, but I know it expresses loving concern, and is therefore greatly appreciated. How interesting that the 9th is your Chi's birthday. I just told hubby, and he grinned at me. Thank you for your assurances of prayer. I went to the docs office and they drew some more blood to recheck the potassium level. I will look up the word you mentioned. Thank you for the information. Hope you have a lovely evening.

Thank you megan, and LittleMissGrouch (I'll bet you are one of the sunniest people in the world!):) We appreciate your expressions of concern for us. Tomorrow I have to take him to the dental oncologist. They worked on a tooth recently and it is hurting. He may have to see an endodontist for a root canal. :( All the best to you both.
