I had a friend give me a bag of black walnuts off of her trees....she cleaned them and then roasted them..what a job! They are habit-forming and I had to put them in the freezer to stay away from them. I love nuts!

those really sound good rae-and i know what you mean it's hard to eat just a few...you sure have a nice friend to share those with you, and to have hulled-them, and roasted them!!!!!

Yeah,lol, I was wondering how long the freezing plan would work out. My Mom tried that one year to keep the boys out of the Christmas cookies. Well, when the holidays came she went to the big freezer to get out her secret stash of only the very best homemade Christmas cookies only to find over a dozen nearly empty cookie containers!!! Yep, they found them and s/n/u/c/k them, frozen and all. SURPRIZE MOM!!! Being the super Mom that she is, she hurried and scurried and made more more more!!! Edited, don't know why that wouldn't post???

It's the first thing that came to my mind when she said she froze the nuts to keep herself out of them. I thought to myself; hmmm, wonder how long that will deter her. Hey Rae, I hear frozen cookies are pretty good too. LOL
