Did you know that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession? I heard somewhere that that's true. I wonder why that is, bless their cold, cold, mercenary, teeny, weeny little hearts ...

Smilieme, that's a really sad thing to hear! I have no dental horror stories. Always had nice people. Can't see why they would be prone to take their own lives, more than any other group.

Snappygrandma, you could google it, if you're interested. It's probably just one of those silly rumors that floats around.

The only dental horror stories I've had have been with hygenists that want to see if they can make my gums bleed to the point that I'm just short of needing transfusions! And don't you just love that sand paper floss they grind back and forth between your teeth?

rose, your pie sounds delicious, as does the tea. cyber eating is calorie free, fat free, and cholesterol free.
I guess that means we can eat more than one slice, doesn't it?

Smilieme, hope is a very good thing. Since my hubby has been ill, we have been given several things to display in our home, and they all say "hope".

hello snappy, and glad you and your hubby are holding on, as hope is a good-thing...so nice to read all of your-posts...yes my dentist appointment is behind me and my gums did not bleed at all, but i almost had a heart-attack when i got ready to leave and they told me it was $535.00, for 2-temporary fillings, this morning...and i'm suppose to go back next-month to have caps-put on these same teeth...over $1,000, dollars next-time!!! i'm so in denial...as i do-not have dental ins....

Good afternoon, everyone. ROCKYSMOM, your post is so cute. Thanks for the greeting - right back atcha!
We are having a day in the 60s. So welcome. Makes me want some nice hot comfort food for dinner tonight. One of our daughters stops anywhere we like on Fridays and brings whatever we want to have for dinner. The fact that hubby can't eat much makes it a difficult thing. Oh, well.
devia, I'm having to pay $400. for the one tooth they are fixing for me. We also have no dental insurance.
I'm a diligent tooth brusher and flosser. Imagine if I weren't!!
Hi ladycat, thank you for your greeting. Hope you are having a nice evening. Happy Halloween to you.

thank-you snappy for posting as i was wondering what other people pay....yes i have no-insurance either...yes i do the same thing as i brush my teeth faithfully, and try to take good care of my teeth...but it almost gave this old woman a heart-attack when they told me "that will be $500.00" !.....what a shock, as i had not been to the dentist only to get my teeth cleaned, so then they found cavities this time...

devia, because my hubby's radiation was of the head and neck, he has to go to a dental oncologist. He is a fabulous dentist, with equipment that my dentist would salivate over, but boy, the cost of everything is 3 or 4 times what I pay.

my snappy isn't it sad on the prices of everything...i just wish as we get older that we could get dental insurance..these prices are so unexpected...i thought i was in total shock when they told me how much i owed, and what i will owe on the next visit...$ 1,000.00, on having 2-teeth capped...
