Hey all I spent a few hrs today watching an old HSN tape (yes I use to tape the shows)and I notice the variety they use to have. I found myself saying what happen to that item very often and this is just one of the seven or so VHS tapes I have of HSN shows. I'm an appliance junkie so most of my list is kitchen stuff. But they did have some very nice jewelry shows with realistic size stones. I think the recession has affected the products they bring, most likely these don't cost much to mass produce for shows. Imagine having to procure thousands of pearl necklaces for a show or gemstone rings. Cookware other than stainless steel. I'm sure its cheaper to put a cream in a bottle. It use to be fewer celebrities and more products. Those were the days.
Anyhoo here is what I miss and want back
Earthenware -they had some very nice dinnerware sets you could mix and match along with some very nice accessory pieces like soup tureens and platters with matching gravy boat for Thanksgiving.
Oster products - there was the nonstick cookware set in colors (not just stainless steel)
The American Flyer woman - she had some nice travel luggage and and the stain resistant tablecloth and napkins
Tim Love (formerly Cottage Collection) - I know he is still online but its been a good long while since he has had a show showing his cast iron colored cookware and matching cast iron pumpkin, heart etc. casserole pots and his heart fondue set.
Progressive - collapsible strainers
Rival- Accu Roast II Roaster Oven
Cookbooks - and not ones from the chefs regular everyday cookbooks like the Blue Ribbon Cookbook
Pearls - shows that feature many styles and colors, earings, bracelets, necklaces.
Jewelry - has anyone seen a gem show that had citrine stones or that pretty watermelon. What about marcasite.
Howard Miller clocks
Frontgate - they use to offer a variety of their items like the heated towel bar and grilling items.
Multi position ladder
EZ vac storage bags
Roys fusion - he had a really nice wok and steamer insert set in colors! COLORS!!
Bravetti - there were a number of these products she also had a multicooker that looks like the pressure cooker Wolf sells. They had choppers, and convectin ovens.
Wolfs variety - he had a 3 piece Asian Cuisine set for $39.90 that was nice.
Command performance - I know there are many that loved those belly shaped pots and pans.
What items do you miss and want back?

To this day I use the Bravetti blender/food processor that I bought in 2003. It's still as much a work horse as the day I bought it.

I miss the C*h*r*i*s T*an clothing line. I think it was only on for a season or two, but I bought quite a few outfits. They fit me so well, hold up beautifully and are perfect for work. I'm wearing one today.
I also miss the Silk Assets line, at least as it was when it was still silk and Diane Furstenberg still had a hand in designing it. Again, beautiful clothes, perfect for work.
I wish they'd bring back the old house brand clothing line (for some reason, the name is escaping me just now -- old age? lol). I've tried a few of the new line (Theme) pieces and don't think they are nearly as well made nor are the materials as nice.
I also wish they'd bring back the Maggie Sweet line for the many many people who loved it. The fact that it's still a topic of conversation two years after it's gone should be telling HSN something.
I think gold and what I'd call gemstones (not just tumbled rocks) are gone forever (or at least until gold becomes more reasonable in price, if it ever does). I can't really blame HSN, but it does make me sad.
I also miss the Howard Miller clocks. I was on the verge of buying one when they disappeared. I wish I'd acted more swiftly on that.

I would love to see the Maggie Sweet clothes line come back. They were the best for tall ladies. I loved Daniel Kiviat when he was in charge of that clothes line. I couldn't beleive when that line ended. I truly got compliments every time I wore a Maggie Sweet outfit and they were so easy to put together and match.

CheapGal - I noticed you mentioned "earthenware". Go to shopzilla (usuals) and you'll find tons of it there, in case you are looking to mix and match. Also, there is Overstock (usuals) and you'll find everything you ever wanted and more. Since I found these sites, it's the only other place I do my shopping. HTH and Good luck. Also, they have free s/h if you get the coupon. Otherwise, the most s/h is only $2.95, never any more.

I really miss Roy's Fusion. It seemed for a while there, hsn had a nice variety of cookware to choose from - to me Roy's was the best. I wish I could purchase more of his items - somewhere! I don't think they are sold anywhere anymore. His tea kettle is beautiful. I'd love another! The wok, etc. was great too - definately would like more.
Also, way back, I remember susan lucci used to sell her hair care line on hsn. I used to like her color conditioner.
I think it was just last year hsn had some different designers on .......velvet is one I liked. Sweet pea was nice to have. I just realized another brand I liked is gone - the one by en Alfonso - I think that's how you spell her name. She had a line call hope - well, it began with hope. perhaps, hope faith and ..... anyone remember? I did really like some of suzanne's stuff - loved to watch the shows - of course she's now on shopnbc. Oh, bandolino shoes!

I was just on the otherside and couldn't believe all the various types of cookware they had in different price ranges. HSN use to be that way but they got rid of the variety and in the process shoppers.
Alfonso are you talking about the woman who played Hope on Days of our lives. I liked her line as well.

Yes, that's right. The women who played Hope on days of our lives. She did have some nice things. I thought they sold well - maybe she'll be back. ?
I just noticed in my original post it edited out the first part of her name - it has it written as en - I really did write en, which I believe was her first name.
WOW - the first part of the spelling of her name was omitted again! That is so odd. These letters were missing again ........ c. h. r. i. s. t. which should have preceeded the en. Wow.

I think that the house brand you, Marissa, were talking about is Cervelle. I may be wrong, but the denim leggings were very popular.

Definitely Command Performance. However, Jamie Gwen is now on QVC and I loved her when she was here on HSN and presenting Command Performance. She now has her own signature line that is similar to the Command Performance but the new pan I just purchased from her on the Q had a gorgeous bronze finish to the inside of the pan and her signature is on the bottom. I would love to see the chocolate line of Perlier come back, the dark chocolate in a whole new configuration with maybe even a scent spray fragrance. I did enjoy Suzanne Somers too, especially when she teamed up with Lynn and Colleen and enjoyed more of her cooking segments with the Somersize products.

As others have mentioned too, the Maggie Sweet line. Daniel had a really fashionable, affordable line of clothing. I enjoyed watching him everytime he was on. Tina Berry with the doll collections too.
