Happy July All,

Beautiful morning here as well devia. We've got our windows open too. The plants are loving it, they've all perked up.

Been pretty busy with yardwork, neighbors and friends are cleaning up the downed trees and I am raking and picking up the debris (little sticks, leaves, etc) that is left behind so we can mow the areas. The yard is starting to look pretty again but it sure is strange not to see some of the big old trees. Luckily we have lots and lots and lots of trees. We have friends who lost their ONLY tree d'oh!

Butch isn't very happy that he can't do the work himself (ironically he owned a very successful tree trimming landscape company for years and still has all of the equipment.) Oh well - I told him there will be ice storms for him to look forward to.

Wishing everyone well,

minkyWinking

Good Morning Birds & Owls. I'm stoppy by to wave to all my fine feathered friends. Very busy down this end, heat has been in the 3 digit temps, a bit of rain, not enough to soak everything that needs it.

I hope y'all enjoy a HAPPY 4TH OF JULY HOLIDAY!

When I get tired of shopping, I just sit down and try on shoes

Hello feathered friends! I finally found out what a "flock" of owls is called...it's a PARLIAMENT!!!
From Wikipedia- The name "parliament" is derived from the French "parlement" (to speak): a parlement is a discussion. The term came to mean a meeting at which such a discussion took place. It acquired its modern meaning as it came to be used for the body of people who would meet to discuss matters of state.
Very appropriate, wouldn't you say? Great to see so many familiar names continuing to post in the month of July. Thanks GM, for starting a new thread for the Parliament!
Have been very busy lately, hosted a party last weekened and am looking forward to an overnight visit from 6 of my most favorite people. Trying to work and spruce up the house and yard a little bit every day. Slips- thanks for asking about WW. I've been bad this entire week and need some inspiration to get back on track. I keep saying I'll do it after the holiday weekend, but I need to get myself in control NOW. It doesn't help that I haven't stepped on the treadmill (or even stretched on the pilates machine) in a month. Any words of wisdom?
Anyhoooooo....Bass, wishing I had some fresh tomatoes in my garden! Can you send me a few? Minky, glad things are coming along for you. Too many posters to give a proper shout out. You know who you are. Take care and have a safe and happy 4th!

Hoot, Hootie, hoot, hoot!
We've had 100+ degree temps for weeks. Today, I wash the bed linens, and hang out on the line. As soon as I got into the house, the sky started darkening and radar shows mega rain coming. I guess I should hang out heavy quilts more often.

Miss Minky, I am so glad you have so many wanting to help you! You and Butch have had it rough for the last few months. You two are very strong people and my heart goes out to you for all you have endured lately. May God bless!Pray Pray
