I have numerous 14K gold rings by Victoria Wieck that I have purchased over the past five or six years, but quite frankly I have been terribly dissappointed in her designs for the past year and her emphasis on silver versus 14K gold.
How can we get her back on track? She use to do such beautiful and unique designs using colored stones, and those have been gone or extremely limited for some time. I have beautiful pink and canary stone rings she did almost six years ago and I get compliments everytime I wear them - which is almost daily! Why can't she bring back some of the classics - there are several I would buy in a flash if I had the chance. What's up Victoria you're letting us down! No one else has your flair and we miss your beautiful and unusual designs in gold.
Let's send a message loud and clear to Victoria and HSN on this.

Ebbe, I would imagine that Victoria would love to bring her gold designs to HSN but it's HSN who is not ordering them. The CEO mentioned in a fiancial magazine that jewelry sales where discerning so it appears like HSN is being cautious and only ordering cheaper jewelry, more costume and silver. Therefore we are seeing very little gold. I too wished HSN would sell more gold and gemstone jewelry but it just isn't that way anymore.

I also read a comment made by the CEO. She stated that women want things like treadmills and items for their homes, not fine jewelry. Colleen hinted last Spring that HSN's management was going the route of fake fashion jewelry. I am surprised that Victoria allowed HSN to cheapen her line so much. I have been shopping with HSN since the late 80's. However, my purchases have been greatly reduced because of all overpriced fashion jewelry and dyed, compressed stones in silver.

It's just a sign of the time. Gold is so expensive and I'd rather Victoria get a lot of silver to play with for her design rather than be limited by the small amount of gold.

I, too, have a number of her pieces in gold, and they are beautiful. But I'm sure people aren't wanting to spend the money on the real stuff, then they can get pretty CZs in silver. Doesn't she rhodium-plate her silver anyway? Isn't that what they plate white gold in? So what's the difference, other than it's less expensive. If and when gold comes down, HSN might get some more pieces in. Until then, I think that they jewelry lines have changed, and maybe for good.

Would you rather have 14K in flimsy, thin mountings or more substantial silver mountings plated in rhodium? Yes, silver is plated in rhodium and it looks just like gold plated in rhodium. The only problem is that you can't get yellow gold if that's the color you prefer. Of course you can always buy vermeil. With gold prices over $1000 oz. the networks have no choice but to look for other forms of jewelry to sell. Very few customers would pay the steep price for heavy duty gold jewelry. It's prohibitive to the average consumer except for the wealthy.

Don't blame anyone. It is just because gold is so expensive!

She could make just as pretty jewelry in silver. Some silver looks like white gold.

As with most jewelers, I think the price of gold has really stifled a lot of what's being offered. That said, I still think some gems in gold should be offered anyway. I can't wear mystery metals. I can wear only 2 lines of silver or else I break out in horrible sores. So I will save for a nice piece in gold and not buy the flimsy, cheap gold jewelry. I think the shopping channels have forgotten that not everyone likes silver or mystery metals.
Peace

I wiould rather have a fairly decent weight 14k piece than silver or mystery metals or bronze. I cannot wear bronze, mystery metals and most silver because I break out in horrible sores. There is still a niche for decent gold jewelry. Peace

I am not expecting HSN to sell really heavy 14k gram weight necklaces and bracelets. However, it would be nice to have some nice gemstones rings in 14k gold. I think when a shopping station has variety for all tastes it makes viewers what other shows, too. The lack of variety at HSN can make viewers stop watching and buying.

There are 21 different items right now by Victoria that are 14K. She has always offered a line of 14K gold here. She uses Vermeil more often, and always has to keep the prices down. more people can afford Vermeil/silver.
