I LOVE H.S.N BUT THE PROBLEM THAT I HAVE IS SOME OF THE HOST'S JUST TALK TO MUCH ! MAINLY.. CHRIS SCANLON THE WORST OF THE BUNCH - MARLO SMITH AND SUZANNE RUNYAN. THEY DONT GIVE THE PERSON WHO IS TRYING TO SELL THEIR PRODUCT A CHANCE TO GET A WORD IN EDGE WISE..AND I GET SO FRUSTRATED AND I YELL OUT ! LET THE PERSON SPEAK, BY THE TIME THEY DO GET A CHANCE TO SPEAK THEY ARE LEFT WITH ABOUT 10 SECONDS. ITS NOT FAIR, THESE 3 LADIES REALLY UPSET ME, AND WHEN THEY ARE ON I WONT WATCH WHAT EVER IT IS BECAUSE ILL JUST BREAK SOMETHING, SO PRODUCERS OF H.S.N DO US ALL A FAVOR AND PLEASE PLEASE TELL THESE 3 WOMEN TO ZIP IT !!!!

I love HSN most of the time but in those moments when show hosts seemed too wired even for moi, I just hit the mute button then go on line & check out product description & reviews. If there are no reviews for a particular item I give it another shot & try to watch the presentation again. Cooking shows are especially cool as sometimes the mile a minute ranting host takes a taste break & zips it for a second or two. Hopefully the vendor is mellow, if not, then its time to change the channel!

I seem to be changing the channel constantly these days. Talk about high pressure sales, HSN is now on the bandwagon. I used to only change the station when Suzanne R was on but now it's most of the time.

To be fair to the on-air talent, I think the hard-sell, non-stop talking over the vendors is at the behest of HSN management. The change in approach has been too comprehensive to be random. I can't imagine all these ladies and gentlemen suddenly decided to change their sales technique independently and all at the same time.

Came on to write, "Just hit mute button--Shannon Smith is on with Adrienne." and the last writer said the same about Shannon! There was a bracelet that was sooooo pretty--it had a tassle. Adrienne was saying interesting things and, granted, she is a talker. But some hosts are so good at that...talking less when they know the guest is talking a lot. Hate to say something bad about somebody, but Shannon would do well to record this and see if she would like to listen to this. It is two people vying for airtime. Pretty soon, a lot of us just go to another channel. I can't stand it and obviously it bothers others, also.

One more thing--If it is management, then they need to read this and tell the vendor that because sales are down (or whatever the reason) the host is going to have to have more airtime to say what management is demanding that she (he) say.
After all, if it is the hosts' words that sell the item, then it is in the vendor's best interest to be quiet enough for her to do the job.

I like Chris and since she's been with HSN for a long time, she is quite knowledgable about products and how to sell them. I do believe, however, that HSN may be putting pressure on hosts to SELL SELL SELL, especially during this holiday season.
To be fair, the reason these chatty hosts got their jobs in the first place was because they are good TALKERS! It's part of their personality. It's hard to pull back and be more subdued when you're not wired that way.
To me Suzanne is beer & pretzels, while Colleen is caviar and champagne. Both have different audiences for their different personality types.

I'm watching now and have been for most of the night and I'll tell you that Helen sooo gets on my nerves for 1. she talks way to much, way to fast, and goes overboard ranting and raving on how great everything is. I'm over hearing her oohhh and ahhh's. I don't mind show host sampling the item but really I don't want to watch them stuffing their face all night followed by smacking and eating with really bad table manners. Come on hsn pull these girls together or get em out of here.

I always get a big laugh when Wolfgang Puck is on. The woman he has on with him plus the show host and then add Wolfgang to the mixture all talking over one another. Somehow they all defer to Wolfgang. If Joy Mangano were on this show, I bet that she could outshout them all.

Suzanne Somers was often terribly rude, talking over Colleen and Lynn when they were trying to say something. That really was difficult to watch. I wanted to scream at the TV for SS to not be so obnoxious, and give the host a chance to speak.

I agree...the Adrienne and Shannon jewelry show was very uncomfortable to watch. Shannon was not listening and jumping over everything Adrienne was saying and looked put-off that she could not get in her pitch...which was, your mother would love it, your grandmother would love it., etc., etc., etc., nothing of substance. Normally, I find Shannon very good, maybe too much caffeine that day!

I like Chris Scanlan and think she is very knowledgeable about products. I have been watching her since 1990. I can watch her and I enjoy her. Sometimes she gets too giddy but that's okay. I cannot take Marlo Smith and Suzanne Runyan. Their voices go right through me; much too chatty and too hyper. Marlo has no warmth to her; just like, do the job and get it done. Suzanne tries too hard to sell; gets too talkative. I cannot take when they say, this will definitely sell out right away! Right....

Shannon tries much too hard to sell; and constantly interrupts the guest host with her opinions. If you took whatever she says seriously, then she must have a separate room in her house for all the products that she says she has, saying she ordered six of each so she won't run out! She also talks a mile a minute which annoys me to no end.

I WATCH WITH THE SOUND OFF..I CANNOT LISTEN TO THE HOSTS..THEY ANNOY ME SO MUCH..
I KNOW THAT ADRIENNE IS A TALKER BUT LIKE SHE HAS STATED SHE IS FROM NEW YORK, IS VERY KNOWLEDGABLE ABOUT HER OWN PRODUCTS AND LISTENING TO HER IS BETTER THAN THE HOSTS MAKING BELIEVE THEY USE ALL HER THINGS..NOW LYNN MURPHY AND COLLEEN ARE VERY GOOD WITH ADRIENNE..THEY LET HER MAKE HER POINTS AND THEY LET HER TELL THE BACK STORIES ABOUT HER FABULOUS JEWLERY...
YES..HELEN WAS ON SOME FOOD SHOW AND SHE DID NOT NIBBLE LIKE THEY DO ON THE Q,,NO SHE WAS STUFFING THE FOOD IN HER MOUTH AS IF SHE HAD NOT EATEN IN A WEEK..IT WAS DISGUSTING AND I TURNED HER OFF,,I WENT TO THE Q AND PURCHASED FROM THEM..
PLEASE LET THE VENDORS SPEAK..THIS IS THEIR SHOT AT SELLING THEIR WARES..
THE WAY THE HOSTS ACT IT MAKES ME THINK THEY HAVE A QUOTA TO MAKE EACH SHOW AND THEY GET A BONUS IF THEY SELL CERTAIN AMOUNT OF GOODS...
