I will not buy the Green Pans and here is the reason......
I do not usually post on these boards, however in the case of Chef Todd English and the way he runs his kitchen I must reply here. My father and grandfather were both Executive Chef's, and in none of their kitchens would they allow two screaming women on either side of them while they were cooking. Ms. Mangano just moons at the Chef looking lovingly into his eyes as if she were to fall over him if he asked her, and the hostess' on the show are just too much. When did Ms. Mangano become a Professional Chef? She makes comments on the food and trys her hand at cooking.....So wrong! The Sous Chef's are trying to do their prep work and are always running into them....Why can HSN not place these two women on either side of the front of the 'kitchen set?' One day unforgiving there is going to be a terrible grease accident and someone is going to be really hurt and burned in this present setting, and it will be one of those women. I have seen it happen before in kitchens when people are where they should not be. The Exec Chef needs space to move around, and English laughably has been given none. I cannot watch the shows anymore as watching Joy Mangano drool over Todd English is down right embarrassing....it might be the way she rolls, but not on my tv. And I do not feel bad for Todd English as another post did, as he in in business with Ms Mangano and the almighty dollar will allow people to degrade themselves anywhere - even national television. It is a pitiful show every time.

I guess I'm not a big fan of his anyway. I ate at his "Olives" restaurant at the Bellagio in Las Vegas and was unimpressed. They were out of several items, because they already have them prepared ahead of time (not from scratch) so when they're gone they're gone. The food we did get tasted like it had been frozen or pre-prepared - so I'm pretty sure this is the norm. The service was horrible, which I know might not be Todd's fault, but nontheless.

I bought the set of Green Pans when they made their debut....then my sister in law bought a set...then mother in law...we ALL HATE THESE USELESS PANS!!!! They lasted about a month..EVERYTHING sticks...how can they still claim that they will last a lifetime and nothing will ever stick? Its a crime..I will be calling Customer Accounts and try to get a refund...

I have tried the pans twice, no success. I went back to Caphalon. They're pricey but they work! I was so disappointed with the Green Pans. Everything sticks. I have brown spots and even my plastic spatula scratched it. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but I couldn't get an egg to slide out of any of my pans. I wanted to share just in case someone is thinking of giving them as a gift. I probably should have sent them back but I have been fortunate enough to usually get quality products and not have to send back. This is by far he worst product I've ever purchased and to think I suffered to through hours of Joy!!

This is by far he worst product I've ever purchased and to think I suffered to through hours of Joy!! They sold over 10,000 in one day so 10,000 customers will either love or hate them. I have to say that I followed the seasoning directions. I was wondering why did i have to do that? Anyway, really my 11" grill pan is the most used and most fun pan I own. I can't speak for anyone else about their experience with them, only my own. I truely have used this grill pan almost everyday since August when i bought it. I have baked lasagna, baked chicken, the most wonderful thing so far is I make potatoes grated as if for potato pancakes. I put butter in the pan warm up some add my potatoes and seasonings. I like to put my salt and pepper and seasonings on the pan before adding the food usually. Anyway the potatoes and peppers turn out great. For anyone who is having issues with cleaning up. I would suggest that you do as I did. Bake most of your foods for a while it made my pan [ was] very to clean. I bake my foods in my grill pan and they clean up well. We are on a fixed income and have to save money. This pan reduces the food waste by not sticking half of it to the pan which is wasted, one last idea for everyone. I made some Brats on my grill pan, the browned pan was perfect for making gravy for the potatoes we also had. My gravy turned out great... I do hope the set I bought today is as good or better performers as is the TE grill pan.

I purchased the 12" stainless steel green pan braiser 5 months ago. I tried cooking pancakes in it using spam spray. The heat is not evenly distributed as the pancakes will burn on one side and stick on the other side of the pan. The pan also turned brown on the inside. Maybe the stainless steel construction is the problem. I have a phone number to call on Monday as to whether they will replace the item. I doubt they will return the money.

I have one Greenpan, an 8" fry pan that I use for eggs. Sometimes the pan performs well, other times the eggs stick a lot. I read the Greenpan reviews, and they mystify me. Some people love 'em and have no problems even after long periods of time; other reviewers reoort lots of sticking from the get-go. Why the variation? Is there a quality-control problem with this nonstick material? I just don't get it. I also don't understand why some of the products (like the ones I'm interested in) have universal good reviews. There seem to be a lot of people who have problems with these, so why the 5-star rating for many of the products. It's a mystey to be sure. Until the technology is perfected (and proven to be safe, BTW), I'll not purchase more pieces. That these are made in China is also a source of concern, given the issues there have been with products produced in China.

It's a mystery for sure. Some people write great reviews, others call in and rave about how nothing sticks. Well, the first few times I used the frying pan, it was fabulous. Then, everything began to stick. My very first posting was to ask people "how can I clean my Green Pans?". I will never buy any more. If you want to try it, the Scotch Brite stove cleaner does a pretty good job if you work at it.

I also wonder what's up with these pans. I purchased a set of Ultrex years ago. There were so many complaints about them but, my set is still in great shape. I love them so, why did some have so many problems with them? This greenpan thing reminds me of the Ultrex line that you either hated or loved. I have no idea why.

I have a question to anyone buying on easy pay plan. Ok; The total for the Anniversary cooking set was $169.95 Shipping and handling is $12.95 Total _______ $182.90 $182.90 divided by 5 = $36.58 but the way it is worked out HSN has you pay initial payment of $49.53 [ this includes shipping then the rest are $33.99 ] till payments are done. Ok another question; I was reading some complaints that HSN even when you are done paying wants some kind of other payments? Anbody know about this tacked on service charge or whatever it is?

How often am I supposed to season it (that's one thing they don't talk about) My 11" grill pan is seriously used every day here. I bake in it, fry in it and sometimes boil low water things in it. Granted it has some faults. the spouts are poorly designed and the rivets leave much to be desired.I would like them to be covered also the handle would look nice all the same stuff. Now the bottom of the pan has darkened some, also the pan had to be soaked once. I found that if i use the high heat like Chef English says, it seems to clean better. Mostly lately I cook fish in it.Today i am making sausage patties and potato slices which has turned out great and the cleanup is great also. I wanted Chef English to please make some mashed potatoes in the pot that is made for that. I wanted to see what exactly utensil he uses to mash potatoes in it. I have yet to see a set of [safe nylon mashed potato sets].Has anyone seen a nylon or plastic or silicone coated set for mashing potatoes? And what if I use a hand mixer to smash the potaotes?? TODD! What is the solution to this dilemma? Need reply ASAp with Thanksgiving coming I really want to know how are we to mash potatoes in a pot that we are told not to use anything but NYLON or plastic in?? Anybody mash potatoes in their pots? if so/ what happened? What have you used for that??

Memejs wrote:I love my Green pans. I will admit that the very first set I bought wasn't as good as the hard anodized..they are wonderful. Try the 1.5 qt. saucepan...you'll love it. WOW - Didn't realize so many were unsatisfied with their green pans. I too only bought the 1.5 to try out...so far so good. Many have said they seasoned their pans first, didn't get any instructions about that? Anyone know? Also intersting about the debate over the presentation. I guess I didn't notice, cause I DVR all TV I watch and go through most of the blah blah blah's!
