Yep, it just stands still after you download & install. What you do next is to attach the USB cable (mine was the wrong type so I had to use a different one), to the Gypsy and to your computer. Wait for your computer to tell you it can read that you have the hardware (Gypsy)attached then click on the Gypsy icon that was installed. It will pop up with your registration number and you confirm it then it will install updates to your Gypsy. Hope I got everything in the right order. Good luck. It took me two hours to get everything working as I had to install the updated version of Net.Framework to my computer before it would install.

MX5Scrapper, Thanks for sharing! I think I have the wrong USB also, where did you get the right one. My computer won't even recognize the one that came with the Gyspy.

Weezbug, when you say hand held one...are you talking the Cricut Gypsy?? As far as I know there is only one Gypsy available, and that's what everyone is talking about on here. It's pretty cool.

I was wondering- I ordered mine a week back. The delivery date is Nov 12th. I am wondering if anyone knows when they will actually ship. Their estimated delivery dates seem to always be conservative. I normally get my items before the date. I know- just wait-- but I am excited!

BEWARE THE GYPSY!!!! I purchased the Gypsy from HSN-and it is horrible! I have wasted several expensive pieces of paper because the gypsy did not communicate with my cricut and I would only get a portion of the assigned cut. When I spoke with Provo Craft they determined I would need a new Gypsy. It has taken them 4 days to e-mail me a fed ex tag to return my gypsy, and they are telling me I won't get a replacement for 3-4 weeks! Because I loaded my cartridges-it cannot be returned. HSN did give me a $50 credit, but if you are considering the product, wait until Provo Craft gets the bugs ironed out. I am not the only one with these issues, check out the Gypsy Board on Provo Crafts site-it is filled with nightmare stories.
I love my Cricut, but I could not be more disapointed in this product!

I love my Cricut, but I could not be more disapointed in this product! I couldn't agree with you more, this has been one of the "WORST PRODUCT LAUNCHES" since HSN duped us into buying the Wishblade when it launched a couple of years ago. I bought this ed Gypsy and I feel like I've been duped AND robbed. I like the the idea of the product, but HSN an PC have made it SO difficult to use I feel for buying it. I decided not to send it back to HSN because I'm not a quitter and I thought I could figure it out. I'm tired of trying to "work with" HSN it may be too late for me to send it back, but it's not too late to sell it on eBay. I now kow why HSN chose not to let us first buyers post feedback, because they already knew the product launch and subsequent customer service would !! Buyer beware!

PS
My post above is missing some choice words HSN deleted when I hit the "post" button, but none of them are anything you wouldn't hear from 10 year old!

I AM SORRY TO HEAR ABOUT ALL THE PROBLEMS SOME ARE HAVING WITH THE GYPSY. I PURCHASE MINE ON WORLD LAUNCH DAY. I HAD NO TROUBLE SYNC TO MY COMPUTER, OR CRICUT AND IT WORKS GREAT.
I LIKE THE FACT THAT EVEN WHILE AT HOME I CAN SIT ON THE SOFA AND WATCH TV, LOL AND DESIGN MY CARDS, ETC...AT THE SAME TIME.
I DO KNOW THAT MANY PEOPLE HAD TROUBLE SYNC WITH COMPUTERS, UPDATING ETC..BUT MOST WHERE COMPUTER PROBLEMS OR JUST LACK OF KNOW HOW. IT IS ALWAYS THAT WAY WHEN A NEW PRODUCT COMES OUT. IT TAKES PEOPLE AWHILE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO USE IT.
BUT I HAVE NO PROBLEMS WITH MINE. I GOT IT OCTOBER 1 AND IT WORKED FINE THEN AND STILL IS GREAT. I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN IF I DID NOT OWN IT.
ONE THING MOST SHOULD KNOW MAKE SURE YOU KNOW IF YOU ARE GOING TO KEEP IT BEFORE DOWNLOADING ALL OF YOUR CARTS TO IT. YOU CAN PLAY AROUND WITH THE GYSPY WANDERINGS THAT IS INSTALLED TO MAKE SURE YOU LIKE IT FIRST.
I THINK GYPSY IS GREAT. MAYBE SOME GOT A DEFECTIVE ONE, I DO NOT KNOW. BUT AGAIN SORRY IF SOME ARE HAVING TROUBLE WITH IT.
