I used to like HSN a lot more than the other "leading" shopping network but lately, that is changing. It seems that some of the hosts are getting way too dramatic & over acting. I know they have to act like they like each and every product, but the way some of them get so excited it nauseating. How excited can someone get over a skillet? Come on! All the oohing and ahhing over each and every product is getting on my nerves to where I change the channel. I look at the program guide and will shop the items if I want to that way. I can't take much more of the soap opera drama that is going on lately. Just point out the benefits of the product and stop saying you own and use each one of them. . . we're not that .

I just saw something new on QVC where they put in a small blue square on the screen and describe a feature of the product. This was on Sunday with the Kitchen Aid show with Mary Beth.

This is good because sometimes the host forgets a feature or there isn't enough time.

I agree. I am watching less of both hsn and the q. It is saving me money. When certain show hosts from either channels comes on, I change the station. There are very few hosts I will watch now. Some are too dramatic, talk to fast, or are annoying to me. But like I said, I am saving a lot of money.

Mike Rowe who stars in the show "Dirty Jobs" was a QVC host for years. Most of the hosts start as actors, a few were beauty queens.

Mike Rowe was on QVC late hours of the night. He was a hoot to watch but he didn't do the best job of showcasing and describing the products he was selling in their best light. If you want to see him in his QVC glory, check out the vids of him on YouTube.

I agree that a lot of the "new" hosts seem to be over-dramatic about each and every product they sell. I know it is their job but it gets to be overkill for me. I have started watching ShopNBC more and more just to catch Charla. I've watched her for the fun of it for over 10 years now. She acts more like a real person than a Barbie doll that constantly smiling and cooing about the product they are pitching at the moment.

enjoy each day as the gift that it truly is!

I love Mike too, I want to check out some footage online of him doing the QVC thing. I am sure it's a blast.

Applause Well said gratefulGirl, I couldn't agree more...I think before coming to HSN they must have tried acting first...it gets sickening, It's amazing when they are showing skin care lines, no matter what skin care line or what host is on they all say the same thing "I cannot go 1 day without this product" they all say they faithfully use every product everyday no matter what skin care product they happen to be presenting at that time, how could any1 use every product from every skin care line HSN offers...sometimes I feel thats very insulting to us the customers thinking we even believe that.... I admit I have fallen for some of the products they are pitching but no more for me...I use Elysee & Italian Beauty and will not bother trying anything new or otherwise they pitch anymore, in fact after the firma-face blunder the 2 products I liked from the SCC line I will not buy anymore, I have lost all faith in SSC to me it's all become about the sales and not the quality.

Mike Rowe should make a guest appearance on the Q. He is a riot and nice eye candy.

I know when I read about each host on the Q a few years back, they all seemed to have acting, radio, tv anchors, and beauty queens under their belts.

Pat James D was the girl roller blading in one famous movie. Can anyone remember which movie it was? For some reason I keep thing it was a John Travolta movie. I don't watch the Q often but the guy over cooking even comes from acting I think. What about the handsome blonde man? Seems he was into something in entertainment. I think I heard at work, some of the hosts still do some movie parts.

Now I have to go over and read about all the hosts again as it is getting to me that I can't remember.Brick wall Brick wall
