I have always thought the part of a host to win the trust of their veiwers. I can only purchase from hosts I trust. I can't hold the item for sale and look at it so I have to go by what the host is telling me. If I can't trust a host, I will not make a purchase from them.

Why are some of the hosts showing items that have very BAD ratings on HSN? Why did they choose them for their picks? This makes NO sense to me.

I have watched a few hosts rave about a few products today only to come to HSN and find the item has terrible reviews.

You know the hosts, and many of these things you know they would not pick. It's nuts.

LOL...I've thought this all along. It's nothing more than another way to show several vendors in one hour instead of focusing on one.....probably costs a lot less for sellers....

I was looking forward for this host pick but i dont believe for a minute that thouse are their picks. All of them have the same items featured and is nothing exciting about anything they are showing, no good flex pays. So it seems like Hsn controls their show hosts very much. Last host pick was ok but this one is the worst yet!!!!

HSN Picks the items for the hosts. These hosts would not have picked half the items they show today.

It's probably whatever items are NOT selling are assigned to various hosts for host pick. HSN feels that the hosts will have enough clout to convince us these items, (that aren't any good) are exactly what we want seeing they picked them. Gone are those days as far as I'm concerned, all the hosts are there to sell and if they don't they lost their jobs. It just that plain and simple. HSN tells them what to sell just like any where that you would work.

I never judge whether or not I will purchase a product according to what a host says, I use reviews and have gotten pretty good and picking out the reviews made by the company and those by actual buyers. I will even check reviews of the product on other websites as they won't be HSN biased.

The host are working not giving a personal opinion on a product. They are salespeople. They sell whatever HSN chooses to offer good or bad it is their job. Which is why their thoughts on whether it is good or bad means nothing to me at all. What are they going to do present the item and say " This item is terrible but I have to present it to you anyway because I'm working."

Use customer reviews to judge a purchase not the host. Always remember its a job and that job is to sell by any means necessary.

The hosts, as much as we may like or dislike them are sales people pure and simple. They are not our friends! They have been hired to sell. If their sales are not what they need to be, they are let go. The same holds true for the vendors.

I have never purchased anything because I liked the host. I am not that gullible. I purchase what I like, want, or need, regardless of who is selling it.

The shopping channels make for nice entertainment while encouraging people to make purchases. I don't part with my hard earned dollars just for the sake of entertainment.

Six to eight years ago the hosts had some great picks. They were all about what they picked and liked and they had some nice items, all different. The shows were fun to watch. The past few years, its all about the same old junk that each host seems to pick the same thing the other hosts picked, telling me that HSN makes them pick it...............I don't even bother watching any more due to that.

Applause I watched a part of Robin Hall's host pick show and she was so cute. It was her first host pick show and you could tell she was really happy. I never noticed her much but after her host pick show I will be watching her more. She seems very honest and very nice.

Bill Green had the best host picks. In fact, he is the best host on HSN. That man can host any show. He is informed and has great ideas about the merchandise.

I agree with katperson. Most of the host picks were not even gift-worthy and that was the whole point of the show. I did order one of Diana's "picks"--Ready to Wear Lash Extension. Though, I didn't order the duo, I ordered the Lash Extension separately on sale. I look forward to trying it.

Wonderful thoughts and statements. Hopefully HSN management team reads these forums. I would like to add that I would have thought that all "host picks" would be reduced in price for the entire day. Many items were not reduced at all! Some items were reduced for a ONE hour period. Now that is frustrating.

I do think that some Hosts did pick some items but I noticed a few hosts were having to read the information of items they were airing and were stating the items had great reviews(when the item had poor reviews). Docha think if a host picks an item for a favorite they would know all about the item?

It seems like many hosts do very much homework before appearing on air and some just "wing it". I heard Bill Green state he read about one of his guests the night before appearing with her. That is one example of a host that goes out of their way to help us make imformed purchases.

I don't want to judge any hosts as they are doing a job I never could do.

Off the subject but something HSN needs to pay attention to is the fact that many times a host will state xxxx number of an item has sold during their presentation and it is the first time seen on air. Not an accurate many times, as they will state an item is on air for the first time and I have seen it on numerous times. The total count for how many of the items sold include prior shows. HSN needs to ensure that all hosts are giving true facts to the customer.

PErsonally, I think they throw the names of ALL the products they sell in a hat, and then divide them up between
the hosts' shows........they get more "potluck" vendors that way....probably a whole lot cheaper for the vendors
to be paying for advertising for 10 mins rather than a whole hour.....JMO
