Just order the embroidery / sewing machice by Brothers. It had so many great reviews. Can't wait, my old machice is 33 years old. I have been studying up and thought this was best for me.

Its a good machine. Read your instructions carefully and if you need to watch the video of the demonstration online over and over until you feel you have it down pat. Enjoy it and have fun.

Cooky55, please post again and let us know how you like the machine. I am still trying to decide which embroidery machine to purchase. I have narrowed down my choices to two Brother machines.

One thing I like about the HE 240 is the alphabet has upper and lower case letters. But not sure about it being a 3/4 size of a regular machine..Do anyone notice a big difference when sewing with this smaller machine? I think I am leaning towards this one because of the alphabet and don't want to go any higher on the price unless another one that is full size and does the upper and lower case alphabet. Does anyone have any input they could give me? I have looked at so many machines they are all running together...I also think I prefer Brother..

I know what you mean about researching machines that you get confused. My neck still hurts from days of studying the benefits of each embroidery machine on the internet. Brother seems better than Singer from the many reviews I've read.

Instead of getting a machine with only a 4x4 stitching area, I decided to just go for the larger 5x7 one off the bat so I'll have no regrets later on. I decided on the PE-770 which uses memory sticks, but my husband said the USB cable would be easier and faster to transfer data from the computer. The PE-700II which HSN offers is the one with the USB port & cable. Now, I have to wait a bit and rethink my purchase. I want to be absolutely, positively sure it's the right one for me.

I have also thought about the 5x7 embroidery area...and I would love to have the larger 5x7...but I need one that sews also. I have still not decided completely...the PE 770 sounds wonderful...and I get all excited and then I see where it is only an embroidery machine...haha...what to do, what to do..I may have to splurge and get the more expensive embroidery/sewing machine with the 5x7 embroidery area that cost more....ugh.
