What a sleeper--most people didn't even know it was on HSN. Sold out twice over the past weekend. I have one and warms my bedroom. AND love the fireplace effect. Very nice. Most people I know that have one are very happy with it.

The fireplace looks very nice. It has the feel of a real fireplace without the mess.

Thanks for the reviews! I have considered this... 5 flexpays is great. Do you know how much energy it uses? Running our furnace all winter is $$$$$$. My kids have yet to master the art of putting on warmer clothes.

my sisters neighbor has two amish fireplaces over the winter last year and he stated they saved on heating bills but i did not know exact monetary details. heck i am saving on heating bills right now cause i have not turned my furnace on once yet and temps have gone down to 32 at night all this past week. any day the furnace is off is a good day. need to get a couple more so i don't have to wheel it around so much. sometimes you just get a chill in this cold weather and you want the extra warmth without turning the heat up. like in the morning. instead of heating the whole house you just click on the amish fireplace and you see the degrees on your thermometer go up. monetary savings depend on how well your house is insulated, what type of heat you have and are you in sunny florida or cold and damp michigan.

All the money you would spend on 2 more of these "amish fireplaces" would pay your gas bill for months. I just don't "get it".

are these fireplaces really short or are they the same height as a normal fireplace?
Peace!

these are much smaller....we also have a real fireplace in our living room , that cost us $5,000, to have it put in, and it's gas and wood both..we can burn either...but we had to also have the chimney put on the roof, and this was included in the price...but this Amish fireplace is great- for our patio, or florida room, as it's just the right size....we love it, and it takes the chill out...and is a real fireplace-burning...without us putting the wood in it...same as our one that cost $5,000...but we love-both...[ we just opened the box and rolled it out, as it's on wheels..] so very simple...and the price can't be beat...and the wood is beautiful, also...

I want one of these soooo bad, but NO place to put it..I am wall to wall in my small one bedroom apt..I live in Amish country..Maybe they could make me a tiny model..I doubt it..bad idea..but I could see where I could save on my Elec. bill with one, although my place is pretty well insulated. I am in patio apartments all on one floor with one side and back covered with other tenants, but my open sides happen to be North and West, and it gets really COLD here in Jan. and Feb.
